Robert French, a public relations professor at Auburn University had plenty of unflattering comments about Starwood’s new corporate hotel blog, www.thelobby.com. For one thing, French notes that the site is boring. By contrast, he has nothing but praise for Living with Legends. He writes: "your blog is quite interesting. You should go help the folks at Sheraton/Starwood." Yeah, I bet they would love to pay us too. Hear that Stanley? Maybe we should jump ship. The prospect of a junkie-free bathroom is not without its charm. On the the other hand, what would we write about — the continental breakfast?

Funny. To their credit, Starwood (like Hotel Chelsea) is monitoring what is being said about them online. They have also stated they will adapt, where possible, to the critiques they receive.
Boring is something Hotel Chelsea is not, so don’t leave, or at least, don’t stop writing about it.
The most compelling aspects of your blog, to me, are the history, dark humor and satire. “Living with Legends” takes the reality of having been home to Mark Twain and Sid Vicious, or Robert Oppenheimer and Stanley Kubrick, and spins a very interesting story. The present day characters in your ongoing journal are just as colorful.
Thanks for sharing them all.LikeLike
