Brazilian Documentary at Daniel Reich Gallery, Chelsea, during A Gentil Carioca show
During the exhibit A Gentil Carioca at Daniel Reich Gallery, in Chelsea, NY, one can watch a video/dvd called Linguagem (42′ minutes- 2005)produced by brazilian journalist Kiko Nazareth, about the works of artist Laura Lima. The show was reviewed by the NY Times very recently and stays on until mid August. Watching ‘Linguagem’- selected at the Loop Festival in 2005, is not only an excellent opportunity to understand more about Ms Lima’s works, it also uncurtains a lot of the Brazilian contemporary art and artists- the film shows works by 16 of them, including Ernesto Neto’s and Jarbas Lopes’s.
