We’ve learned that the new management company is Ira Drucker Associates. Drucker was involved in the conversion of the Covenant House into the Maritime Hotel. He also recently partnered with other developers to develop the two Richard Meier glass towers on Perry Street.

Oh dear. This is a really, really ugly turn of events. None of the Drucker properties have class — they are gauche playgrounds for rich, vapid partygoers. This management company is all about making things trendy, not real, to attract money. They are about exploiting a trend, not creating trends, new ideas, being ahead of the curve.
