According to Joe Ambrose, his book, "Chelsea Hotel Manhattan" includes "…abstract musings on what brought me to nyc and the hotel of which the piece in the video is one. Three very important people in my life died in the 12 months before I went there, and a very important relationship was also terminated on me. So that’s why i was down in the depths of the deep blue sea."

I find this rather hard to stomach. Self-proclaimed “art terrorist” Joe Ambrose slags off Chelsea residents (“All this whingeing about the changes from the so-called artists living there is just a pile of rich kid horseshit”) and says he’s “totally opposed to nostalgia” then turns around and milks it like a Guernsey Springer. Nostalgia “goes against everything I believe in” says Joe, yet he’s built a career out of riding the Beat/Punk gravy train. Talk about rich. The guy that says that most of the art along the Chelsea stairwell is “appallingly mediocre” has no problem being filmed spouting third rate poetry.
I don’t like being unkind, but I find that sort of hypocrisy nauseating.LikeLike

He’s a poser. Sorry for his losses but he didn’t do his research nd he doesn’t get the hotel at all.
