It has been a year since minority shareholders Marlene Krauss and David Elder unwisely ousted the Bard family and brought in Richard Born and Ira Drukier to manage the Chelsea Hotel. Many of the Ghosts who had been resting peacefully in the basement and lobby for hundreds of years were not amused and resistance ensued.  Unfortunately, Richard Born and Ira Drukier were not experienced as ghostbusters and were therefore driven from the hotel in record time.
Sit back, enjoy the show and get ready for round II.  We hear Marlene Krauss will have a new team of experienced ghostbusters in place soon.  Thanks to everybody who sent in photos. (Watch closely to see former director of operations Glennon Travis prove once and for all that he’s a Eurotrash Beachbum.) (More photos on flickr)

This website is turning into a bashing site against your management company. And honestly your management is not that bad, they are nice people and you should leave them alone. Dont you have real art to discuss, or some news about the artists in your building? Its really tiring to read the same hate bashing against the same people over and over again. If the courts ever saw this site, and what you write it would be considered liable, and it would make you look bad. Do you really want to create a bad name for the hotel, what is the point of continually blogging angry, hateful things about these people? It is beginning to sound extremely far fetched.
Also the fact that this comment needs to be aproved shows bias, and the limmiting of free speach, which is not what artists stand for.

Annonymous (sic), we are fighting to save the Chelsea Hotel and what it stands for. It is not farfetched at all. The current management is bad, not good, and this has been well documented in a detailed fashion on this blog. The previous manager, Stanley Bard, who is also the majority shareholder, created a legendary place, full of magic, art, surprise. It was unique, a work of art itself. The new regime are nice people? I do believe they called security on the much beloved Stanley Bard, after ousting him over (let me make sure I have this right) “legal corporate issues.” They said terrible things about him, the man who ran the hotel for 53 years, 12 hours a day, who looked after thousands of great artists and many others. Nice people do not do such things. They have also evicted tenants, and IIRC want to evict more tenants, even a dying man. They wish to convert residents’ rooms into impersonal hotel rooms. The management they put in place instituted draconian rules for staff and for children. And we mustn’t forget lder’s attempts to take income from Piri Thoms, who was required to pay tax on that income. This is about art, my friend, and artists, and love and community. As someone else noted, try as you might, you cannot spin the steaming pile of horseshit wrought by David Elder and Marlene Krauss into cotton candy. Please bring back the Bards.
