Hotel Chelsea Blog
This is the question raised by a blog reader from Norway:
"After reading about the conflicts at the hotel, I have a very simple question. I was planning to stay three nights at Chelsea in July, but my impression is that this will mean putting money into the hands of greedy barbarians. Am I right? And if so, could you recommend a better alternative?"

hope everything’s fine.
I always keep in touch with the news reading your blog, and think very
often about our stay ay the chelsea.
I just read the june 28 issue, about the norwegian traveller who’s
asking himself if he should come or not. please tell him that I do
believe that people like us must keep on coming, in order to meet
people like you and all the other long-time residents, and thus
understanding what the -chelsea hotel- spirit is, and talk about it
once back in their countries.
that is not much, but still it counts, I believe, to keep the flame
alive.
anyway, as long as claire, the kids and I are concerned, we didn’t
regret a second to have come, and do look forward to coming back as
soon as possible!

I think you have to come, even at the risk of continuing to support Krauss, et al. I brought my daughter a few months ago. How can I tell her about the Chelsea unless she experiences it for herself? And God forbid they ever succeed in turning this place into just another hotel . . . you’ll be so glad you didn’t miss the real thing. We’re coming back in the fall, just to be there again, feel the hotel around us. If you can stay at the Chelsea, by all means, do.

My daughter Emily and I had a great time staying at the Chelsea. It is a beautiful and unique place and the residents I met were so friendly and fun. Storme even sang a little for us “what a rare treat!”. The location is superb, you can easily get to anywhere in the city. I gave Elder my evil look when I saw him. Please do not hesitate to stay at this remarkable hotel.
