That’s the stationary the new management uses to address the Hotel Chelsea’s guests? Uninviting and completely unacceptable. As I remember they used to use beautifully embossed writing paper with a grand old illustration of the HOtel. Did the minority owners toss that out right along with Stanley Bard?

Perhaps they plan to ghostbust the haunted elevators. It won’t work however.

A better question is: how long will this horsesh-t new management “actually” last?
I came into the building Friday night and didn’t recognize a single solitary employee. Not one. Especially not the SLEEPING, SLOUCHED AND ATTMEPTING TO RECLINE security guard camped out in a chair beside a half-empty bottle of beer that some other slob had discarded there. I’m sure security wasn’t drinking the beer, but couldn’t he have thrown it away so the place doesn’t look a mess, so the Hotel in in compliance with liquor laws or so that some crazy person doesn’t grab and smash it? Isn’t this all part of providing security? Save the hotel’s money and let the security sleep at home.

Interesting time they’ve chosen to mess with that East elevator. The 30th anniversary of that whole “Sid & Nancy” thing is fast approaching. Sid’s ghost needs access to that elevator at all times.

That elevator still mysteriously opens up on the first floor (With no one in it). Its been doing that for years now…….

first floor, second floor… still have a blood stain on the floor, does it? tipping a stretcher on end to get it into the elevator rather than bother with the stairs will do that sort o thing… on of our old apts there (we lived in 3 over the years – this was the one beneath Nick and Rhea) had wonderful blood stained carpet (we removed very rapidly) and the floor still showed dark there… i gather a man killed his wife. my partner heard her screaming as i showered one day – years after the event.
used to dream of moving home to the Chelsea, but sans Bards and with such sad excuses for management, the dream is tainted. not to mention, i struggle with the thought of no Chinita Linda!LikeLike
