Unable, due to a DOB issued Stop Work Order, to follow through on his plans to turn the Chelsea Hotel into a fancy boutique hotel, Manager Andrew Tilley has broken down and decided to allow new permanent tenants into the building.  Soon, it should be just like the good ole days!   Let’s give a warm welcome to our first new neighbor, actress Helen Hanft, seen here heading out for a night on the town.   The other photos are of a hall blocking film shoot. We can probably expect more of these shoots in the future as the Chelsea Hotel is offering a discount to the media and entertainment industry.

I see Ms. Helen has been introduced to David Elder’s goon squad! Can’t imagine what she did to piss off management already. Hope she’s feeling better.

Helen, now watch they don’t change your lock on the 29th day and keep your deposit…thats the hospitality biz Glennon Travis style. A tradition no doubt passed down to ‘No Willy’ Andrew Tilley…

Who else saw actor Vincent Dinofrio in the lobby? Law & Order LOVES to shoot in Chelsea – great show! Hopefully our dumb and dumber stewards Tamasar and Tilley didn’t have anyone arrested for effect.

Producers for this TV show select real stories in the newspaper and fictionalize them. Maybe their plot involves David Elder’s and Charles Ferri’s ‘good squad’ who have been committing violence against guests and tenants alike for months.

OMG, this is fantastic news! I was so excited when I learned of the Hotel Chelsea earlier this year. I stayed up all night one night reading this blog from the beginning posts to the newer ones… I was upset when I called to find out the rates and was rudely told that the Chelsea no long takes long term residents.
I’m very excited at the thought of having the chance to live in the Chelsea.
Can anyone tell me what the weekly/monthly rates are?
Any other info you want to pass along?
Update: I called tonight and when I asked what the weekly/monthly rates were I was told they don’t have them, only by the night. Starting at $209 a night?

This film crew has got to be the only ‘Law and Order’ seen around the Hotel Chelsea these days – New Management has lost its sanity in pursuit of greed – committing crimes against our history, engaging in espionage, even introducing violence to a formerly (generally) satisfied community of residents. They’ll refuse to acknowledge their ship is sinking but the only real question left is ‘which side of it to cling to?’

when i inquired about long term residancy i was turned down in august, apparently i stayed there the week before all this mayhem started and when i asked, new requests were just being turned down. when i followed up to make sure that the case for no long term residents was true… i was rudely turned down by on of the Tillian management donkeys. This is good to hear. Well done in keeping up with the blog ed! cheers all
maybe ill be inquiring about price again =)
