On Wednesday, Man-Kinda-Sorta-In-Charge Arnold Tamasar had workers take down the letters “RD” in the room next to tenant activist Arthur Nash.  The tenant who previously lived in the room had allowed Arthur to use her windows to display part of his message in support of the return BA2 of the Bard family.  Unfortunately, the tenant was forced out by management a couple of weeks ago, as part of their program to clear the building of permanent tenants (they are concentrating on this wing of the second floor, where Bob Dylan’s room is also located).  Fortunately, management will not be able to do any demolition/renovation in the room at this time, as the building is under a DOB stop work order due to illegal construction in Dylan’s room.  — Ed Hamilton

I’m guessing one of those instant sign vendors could whip out a couple hundred window sized “Bring Back The Bards” banners for next to nothing. Set up a paypal account or something, I’ll pitch-in.

Andrew Tilley slapped paint on elevators–the full extent of his ‘improvements’– and Tamasar scraped some to annoy the Pro Bard tenants. Do these dummies have anything else to offer but latex and whitewash?

And the purpose was what, again? You know, apart from instigating more protests. Doubtful the room of the tenant who Tilley/Tamasar bullied into vacating will be rented anytime soon, even if there were guests checking in, which there aren’t. My nephew and his wife have cancelled their annual trip to the Chelsea they are so disgusted by acts of domestic terrorism being directed toward long term tenants. Fight on!

that tenant was rent stabilized like all long term residents of the hotel and, true to the ongoing pattern, was repeatedly harassed and pressured into turning in their keys.
in spite of vacating that tenant is still entitled to file major overcharge claims through dhcr.
