Hip, Hip, Hooray!  We’ve finally got some online help in our struggle for the soul of the Chelsea.  Tenant activist Arthur Nash, long at the forefront of the campaign to restore the Bards to their management role at the Chelsea Hotel, has just unveiled his new myspace page.  Titled, Rooftopintrash unsurprisingly, Bring Back the Bards, the site has tons of photos and video from the early stages of the battle to the more recent, ongoing, assault on the rooftop gardens.  Highlights include: photos of the recent eviction of the 75-year old man (we can’t wait to see the video!), and tons of photos and videos of the illegal destruction of Bob Dylan’s room.  This is a site not to be missed, because it is being updated frequently.  Videos related to the destruction of the roof gardens are the latest addition, and Arthur is filming and uploading them as we speak.  You can get to the site by going to Myspace.com/BringBacktheBards.  — Ed Hamilton

The vids of the 75 year old getting tossed by the NYPD, with this creepy Tamasar guy lurking in the background, is really disturbing. If the man had paid his bill then he had paid his bill. Mr. Tamasar shouldn’t be allowed to use the cops to do his dirty work. I hope that this poor man found another place to rest his head and didn’t end up with all of his possessions on the sidewalk!

Your lowlife manager sure lies his ass off. I’ve no doubt the bill was paid. So imagine taking this man’s rent and then booting him on his twenty ninth day? Handing him a check and saying “Get lost”, which is what this amounts to… The man was sick and being confronted by Police Officers. If thats not underhanded I don’t know what is!!!

I’m really turned off by the way the Hotel Chelsea is being run. I can’t believe that elderly man was put out like that. Horrible! How would they like it if it was someone in their own family????? Its not as if the man was a dedbeat they’re offering him a refund!!!!

The roof garden was among the best attributes of the Hotel and to see them being treated with such disrespect is too much to handle. The complaints that were made on the DOB website are completely fishy, almost certainly the design of the most recently resigned manager Andrew Tilley. I spoke to the management/owners of El Quijote and they were also the targets of Tilley’s 311 repoprts. YOU SUCK ANDREW TILLEY THANK GOODNESS YOU LEFT SO SOON

The Weinsteins had the best looking rose bushes in Chelsea – what a scandal that the Hotel would pull this draconian shit and with spring right around the corner – they would have been gorgeous once again. It seems like Andrew Tilley caused a lot of commotion for everyone and then made his grand getaway before it all hit the fan. I heard he canned a longtime Chelsea employee on the same morning he resigned. I find theres something not quire right about a man admitting he isn’t capable of performing his job, then at the same moment playing judge and jury with the career of another person who probably wasn’t eager to lose it. Am I wrong?
