New York real estate legend Dan Peckham sent us this e-newsletter produced by Belkin Burden a few years back, but we didn’t make the connection that the law firm trying to evict him was also the Chelsea Hotel’s law firm! They haven’t had much luck getting rid of Peckham, now have they? That certainly gives us reason to be optimistic.
On the other hand, this newsletter should make your head spin. In it Belkin Burden is basically advertising that they can get rid of rent stabilized tenants through luxury decontrol and demolition application. (The latter presumably includes the so called “phony demolition” that they used against Peckham.) At least it’s good to know where we stand with these guys. Get ready to rumble indeed.

Ha! Belkin (& their Beasts of) Burden oughta hope no-one with their firm advised David Elder on how to have “his people” fudge the applications to renovate #211. Seems like the best case scenario would be huge penalties from the New York State Bar, maybe even a dis-barrment or two, that’d be nice 😉 But really now, Krauss and Elder must have stars in their eyes to think they’ll ever get a Cert of Non Harassment after the very public stunts they’ve pulled like ripping apart Dylan’s apartment and having a tenant roughed up for beating them in court. Their lawyers, though, will be more than happy to keep taking the Hotel’s money.

This firm is a big part of the reason the legal profession has a bad name.

Belkin Burden is one two invisible hands guiding David Elder in his campaign to ruin the Chelsea, both spiritually and financially. The other is Marlene Krauss.
On good authority, this dimwitted puppet doesn’t tie his shoes without say-so from the top. He’ll end up literally penniless and wondering who to blame. Marlene lost her wealth to Madoff and you better believe she’ll see Elder loses his, too.LikeLike

One of two, rather.
If I had some invisible hands to guide me there’d be no typos.LikeLike

More like “Bumblings from the Chelsea’s law firm…”, and false advertising, too.
When Belkin Burden brought their $300-400 an hour dog & pony act to the Chelsea and tried evicting rent stabilized tenants, they got batted around by a Pro Se defendant who never spent a day in law school.LikeLike
