We hear that there's a lot going on over there at the virtual Hotel Chelsea in Second Life. For starters, the "Bring Back the Bard" campaign has been SUCCESSFUL and as you can see from this screen grab Stanley Bard has been firmly installed behind the desk. And, according to Mykal, the creator of the virtual Chelsea Hotel "I'm meeting actual hotel residents who have been in Second Life for some time! (did you know you lived in the midst of avatars?) This will help me to make the hotel even more accurate! As for rent? I plan on doing it the old school way… first of all real residents get dibs, secondly, your art is more important than your rent. Yes, it costs me a bit of money monthly to do this, but if it helps the cause of the hotel residents, it's worth it. If I could live there for real, I would.. this is my substitute for now… enjoy."

Update… Thanks to one RL/SL Resident, I updated the entire outside of the Virtual Cheslea today, and it looks more realistic than ever.. I’m working on making “Stan” look a little more like your missing manager too. Thanks to all of you for your support and help in this project.

this is great. i visited last night and chatted with a girl who designs shoes. the staircase has been impressively rendered. and the wrought-iron on the balconies is perfect. nice job!

Missing are avatars for the unholy trinity of Marlene Krauss David Elder and Arnold Tamasar with options for SL tenants to tar, feather, and do all the things we secretly wish on them in RL; well deserved after what they did to the mailboxes, the gardens on the rooftop and resident balconies, the old Bob Dylan room and did I mention the mailboxes???
This is a really cool accomplishment Mykul but seeing the old mailboxes in SL makes me extremely upset over what this evil trio has done to our home. Meanwhile they can’t even seem to keep the transient rooms occupied. If they can’t do that, why again are they here? The Bards knew how to do it, and how! I guess they didn’t leave a how-to manual behind. Without exception, this takeover has been an perfect failure from day one.LikeLike
