Things are getting very confusing around here.  How in the world are we supposed to sort out these clues?  First we received this e-mail from Director of Operations Arnold Tamasar on March 22, 2010:

Ed,

Although we did not get off to a great start I wanted to wish you all the best.

The Hotel Chelsea will always have a place in my heart. I will take and cherish all
my fondest memories of the culture which exists here at the Chelsea. It is a remarkable place…and I will miss it.

Arnold Tamasar

Maybe somebody sent him some knickers in the mail.  We didn’t care one way or the other because we still had our beloved David Elder to take care of us.  However,  we recently came across this picture of  what purports to be a  good-bye card for Elder:

To complicate matters further, how does the recent visit to the Hotel by David Bard fit into the puzzle?

Mistress Marlene, won’t you please enlighten us?

OMG – could it be??? My fingers are crossed that for the first time, in a L-O-N-G time, management will be in the right hands at the Chelsea. =D Can’t wait for further updates….

Maybe Paper Magazine is running a story about greedy hostile takeovers and the last bastion of Old New York? On the other hand, maybe David was just picking up his mail. Contrary to Elder and Krauss’s wishful thinking, the Bards still own the place!

LOL Memz! former tenant Leonard sure looks like David H. from Paper Mag…its not D.H., but there’s no mistaking the ruse disguised in neer-do-well Tamasar’s email mess…we of the Chelsea hope he’s enjoying those paid vacation days!!!!
Stanley Bard viewed his tenancy as rubies in the rough. Krauss and Elder just see a lot of rubes.

Oh boy…I’m confused also, Ed. By not getting off to “a great start” is Arnold revisiting those episodes wherein he evicted longtime tenants including elderly, demolished historic apartments and tore out the mailboxes? If so then yes, Arnold, you nailed it on the head. But then in reality Arnold doesn’t give a rats ass about the Hotel’s traditions and only cares about keeping his paychecks rolling in. Ruse or no ruse, the guy never belonged here and never will. He should have beat feet with Andrew “No Willy” Tilley.
