For those concerned about Storme Delarverie there is cause to celebrate.  First, she has moved from Oxford Nursing Home and is now living at CABS Nursing Home, a much nicer facility, where her needs can be better met and one of her good friends, Gladys Sille, is also living.  The location of the CABS Nursing Home is 270 Nostrand Ave.,Brooklyn New York.  It's at the corner of Nostrand and DeKalb.  If you take the G train it's between Dekalb and Bedford Ave.

Secondly, the Henrietta Hudson bar will host a gala in honor of Storme on Nov. 21 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.  100% of the proceeds will go to Storme, to take care of her day-to-day living expenses and incidental needs.  $5.00 or more donations will be accepted at the door.  There will be surprise musical guests and performances.  The Henrietta Hudson bar is located in the West Village at 438 HudsonCome to the party and toast Storme's continued well-being and long life.

    Great picture of Storme!
And even greater that the next chapter in Storme’s life was made possible by a Hotel tenant-based initiative! Storme’s true blue friends rallied, sought out top-notch legal counsel for her and got her out of the cuckoo’s nest that a few underhanded, self righteous never-weres had placed her in.
    She’ll be much happier now.

This is awesome news! I’m so happy to hear that your efforts succeeded in getting her the home she deserves. Victory for everyone, congrats! Storme is an amazing lady. She deserves a nice home.

I don’t think we can assume the Bards would want to come back – I feel we can assume they would act as advisors if the right people were interested in buying or had bought the hotel. They are the only people who know how much it costs to keep the old girl breathing and how much income to count on. I have the same idea as you Miss H – a person could buy a room or a suite – in my case I would probably use it for a month a year. Maybe furnish it myself? Rent it myself or have management rent it and take a cut for the communal pot. Something like a timeshare? More like a residence than a hotel? Less hassles. Since we (previous Chelseaites) live all over the world it should be fairly easy to fill our spaces, or have management fill them, for most of a year.
We need a good accountant to crunch the numbers – I have one here but there doesn’t seem to be much interest. ??
Hey David, talk to your Dad – is this viable? Email me; bettybishop at me.com
