FATHER’S DAY

My father is a hard-boiled soldier.

He adores battles, strives for medals,

fights in the Gulf and in Babylonia.

He prizes bombshells,

gathers explosive memorabilia.

My father loves my mother.

My mother is a blond bombshell:

memorable and dynamite.

in pictures and flesh.

She is the talk of Astoria.

Follow George’s lead and send us some content. We are open to anything and everything about the Chelsea Hotel and the Chelsea neighborhood.  If you have fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photographs or art work relevant to the hotel or its environ, send these along via e-mail (preferably) or by other means.  If you are a current or former resident with an event to promote, send us the details.  If you have ever stayed at the hotel and would like to be interviewed on your stay via e-mail, let us know.  We would also like to receive reviews of the hotel, good or bad (grievances and gossip are fair game), as well as reviews of any work by Chelsea residents past or present.  Reviews of area restaurants or places of interest would also be acceptable.  Though we don’t have any restrictions on length, it’s a good idea to keep these things relatively short, as they are supposed to be blog posts, after all.  But if you have something long, we might be able to post an excerpt with a link to the rest of the piece.  chelblog@yahoo.com

Wonderful! There are loads of double meanings, its cleverand it has humor. Some might not appreciate this poetry but those who know how to read, and I mean read like they are capable of reading shakespeare and understand all of the twists, whirls and whimsy . . .they will appreciate george chemeche. Its wonderfull that there is a poet at the chelsea. I will look for his work from now on. I applaud this.
