If a guy can’t deal with pranks that would take place in any college dorm how does he get a job in a landmark NYC hotel? Hey Marlene and David I have no hotel experience but I’d be willing to give it a go, have your peeps call my peeps.

Who wants to play the Blame Game!!! Its so fun.
Blame everyone but yourself, Andrew. Not sure I would promote to future employers how disconcerted you get — actually quitting a very lucrative job — because one of millions of websites in the world has chosen to criticize your hairstyle.
Are you for real? And you expect people to believe that rubbish? If somebody was paying me your salary, Andrew, I’D LET THEM PEE ON ME IN MACY’S WINDOW.
But your answer is to resign. Sure, whatever you say.

Well Tilley can’t claim he didn’t get his say in the media. More quotes in there from him than anyone else. Trouble is every quote is completely transparent. Didn’t this guy’s mommy teach him its not good to lie. Literally, he can’t tell the truth!

Alls fair, but the Chelsea Blog only had ammunition to throw at Tilley because Tilley gave it to them. What, did this blog make up the story about illegal demolitions, Stop Work Orders, assaults, and so on? No, they seem to have actually happened, so how can anyone blame a blog? Why doesn’t Tilley blame the New York Post or Observer for reporting the same stories?

Hi Andrew! Your interview with Chris Shott did set the record straight — you’re glued to the Blog! So instead of calling the house, figuring your dial-up modem would be preoccupied, I thought I’d post an “Instant Message” here with quick hello on your third or fourth day of unemployment. Don’t worry, Andrew, things will get better. I heard one of the Indian Tribes is christening another Hard Rock soon. If you get there during construction, maybe they’ll let you swing a sledgehammer.
Hey, you didn’t destroy anything valuable on your way out, did you?

Anyone posting in favor of this Krauss-Elder-Tilley crew is likely not a resident, or is one of the two malcontents in the building who are trying to save their asses. BTW, has Charles Ferri paid his back rent yet for his cheesy club?
Tilley was way out of his league, and was a lapdog for Marlene Krauss and David Elder. The dynamic duo managed to find lawyers who could take control away from the majority shareholder and manager for 50 years Stanley Bard, the man who with his residents built the hotel’s legend. These twonitwits, Krauss and Elder, demonstrated no real interest in the hotel until real estate prices rose, then they swooped down. I believe Elder still owes his elderly stepfather about a million bucks, doesn’t he?
Krauss and Elder have demonstrated no real knowledge of the hotel, and have only done things antithetical to its spirit. They have shown over and over their intention is to get rid of the artists and turn it into a boring boutique hotel for businessmen. Their first release about he hotel didn’t mention the hotel’s history or special spirit, it talked about the “street-front retail program.” That program appears to be in a shambles, btw. Occupancy is way down. They are systematically destroying the hotel and everything it has stood for. It was a rare ecosystem that launched a thousand artists into the world. The sooner Krauss (who rarely sets foor in the hotel and seems to see it just as a cash cow) and Elder (has he ever held a job? Nobody knows) leave and turn control back to the people who know how to manage it, the better. Even Ira Drukier agrees with this.
This blog fights for the Chelsea known worldwide, for all the artists and other who live and lived there.

It wasn’t only the blog’s opinion that Andrew Tilley was doing harm to the Chelsea Hotel. The City of New York says the same thing, that his activities were not in keeping with the architectural traditions of the building, and according to the DOB website they sent an Emergency Team to put Stop Work Orders in place and prevent Mr. Tilley and his assistant Arnold Tamasar from doing further damage.
It is lost on me how Mr. Tilley could seriously blame the whistleblower for his current state of unemployment. When Fox News sent Toni Senecal to do a “Shame on You” piece, Tilley had their cameraman thrown out in the street.

This story sounds even a little fishy. Quit over editorials on the web? Tilley may be bluffing you all and just working from home. Reading a recent post, I understand he’s rarely there anyway.

Interesting point, Chelseaite. Is it possible that Tilley is just at a remote location, like his home office, and they are trying to pull the wool down over your eyes? We do live in the age of technology. I just can’t imagine anybody quitting for the reasons cited — online insults? That would be the lamest excuse if its genuine.

Congratulations on a battle won, keep up the good work, soon no one will take the position. They will have to bring back the Bards. DJ.
